About the Farm

Lisa and her family have been farming this small block since 2019, and have taken great pride in developing it to where it is today. Environmental improvements have ranged from planting thousands of native trees, to introducing dung beetles for nutrient cycling. Welfare improvements have included building animal enrichment structures, shade sails for shelter, and improving facilities for safer animal management.

What We Do

Ever since we started farming this land, Lisa has hosted many curious groups of people keen to learn more about agriculture, from primary students to university students, teachers and the general public. Lisa firmly believes that the wider public is becoming further and further removed from where their food comes from, and is passionate about providing access and learning opportunites for people to get closer to farming!

About Lisa

Kia Ora, I am Farmer Lisa, and I farm this small block with two toddlers in tow, a newborn, and a beloved working dog, Griz. I am a three-time qualifier for the Grand Final of the New Zealand Young Farmer of the Year Competition, an agricultural graduate of both Lincoln and Massey Universities, a Kellogg Rural Leadership Programme alumni, a small business owner, and a qualified personal trainer and group fitness instructor.

Entering the agriculture industry at 18 with no previous farming experience was daunting to say the least, but the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence I have gained through both academic study and "learning on the job" have been invaluable, and I absolutely love being able to share this with others, no matter what learning or career path they may be on.
